Nestled amidst forest and lake bordering the national park and close to the quieter Katagamuwa gate, Leopard Trails tented camp allows guests to experience the wilderness in comfortable air conditioned deluxe tents or in larger suites with plunge pools. Expert naturalists lead shared game drives, nature walks, give an introduction to stargazing, and also host guests for drinks around the campfire, before dining by candlelight! An approximate 4 hours’ drive from the Colombo city and the Bandaranaike International Airport, Leopard Trails is situated in the perfect location which is easily accessible from any point even from the Mattala Rajapakse International Airport just being 1 hr away from the camp. The spacious tents are all air conditioned with private bathroom facilities and seating area for each tent. Besides safari drives, guests can enjoy games and activities arranged by the property or relax in the lounge area with a cocktail or fine wine from the fully stocked bar. We have two types of tents at Leopard Trails Yala camp: The Leopard Trails Suites and Deluxe Tents.

"Services provided in the camp were excellent, room well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Staff were attentive throughout and the standard of the food was exceptional. Our guide for 3 Jeep safaris was amazing, highly knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure throughout our stay also taking care of everything at the camp as well. A nod to our excellent driver who made sure we saw as much as possible on the trips. Camp tucked away up a bumpy dirt track away from tourist area. From our personal experience it is not at all surprising this place has achieved it’s high accolades from a variety of prestigious travel guides 👏"

We learned a lot during the safari with him. The staff were very caring and accomodating on specific diet and dietary requirements and the food was very good. "We had such a good, memorable time here. Taken very well care of by Manju (the owner), we enjoyed a very comfortable stay in the wild, off the beaten track, with beautiful nature all around us. The food was delicious and filling, vegetarian and vegan diets catered for completely. They lit us a fire one night and we enjoyed dinners by candlelight every night. The beds were super comfy and the large hut that we stayed in was very spacious - good for all bags and clothes. Manju organised our safari day and our trip to a local beach. He was ready to meet our every need and was very kind and friendly with our children too."

Our half day (evening) Safari guided by Nikki was great and we noted that most other vehicles in block A didn’t have a guide and hence struggled to spot wildlife. Some food was very good - especially the curries at lunch. We loved the set up for the dinner by the bonfire. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly."
