"Loved the place at the river. Very nice welcome and big room, like small apartment with little kitchen og big bathroom with nice shower. Nice staff and breakfast."

"We stayed in Hettimulla River House during our first night in Sri Lanka. The owners were more than friendly and the location of the guesthouse was simply amazing. Everything was nice and tidy, the pool was superb and the view over the river was just perfect."

"It was our best stay in Sri Lanka so far. Such an amazing place with beautiful nature, cozy natural rooms and kind hosts. We really enjoyed the time here!! The breakfast was authentic Sri Lanka food. Just great! When we got time left, we will definitely come back. Thank you!!!"

"The room, bathroom and garden are very spacious. The warm welcome with a nice cup of tea from John. Also the warm welcome of the two lovely dogs😊. Great swimming pool. Good place to have dinner is Kandoori (about 10 minutes walk)."

"Das war die schönste Unterkunft in ganz Sri Lanka. Die Besitzer sind Mega zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das ganze Anwesen inkl. Pool war sehr sauber. Wir haben auch Fahrräder ausleihen können und sind durch die Gegend gefahren, es war toll."

"Die Ruhigste Unterkunft die wir in 4 Wochen Sri Lanka hatten. Ein bisschen außerhalb aber trotzdem sind Restaurants und Geschäfte fußläufig erreichbar. Frühstück am Fluss, spielende Hunde, ein Pool, wahnsinnig große Zimmer. Würde jederzeit wieder kommen!"

"Luxury at a very affordable price. The guest house is beautifully designed… I think I spotted some Bawa influences there! It’s very clean and spacious with a pool, terrace and beautiful garden to enjoy. The food is absolutely wonderful, the staff incredibly friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. The environment around the area is so lush and verdant, and it’s only a five minute walk to Lunuganga. A delightfully peaceful and enjoyable experience. I was very sad to leave"

One of the highlights was renting a bike directly from the hotel was super convenient, and I really enjoyed exploring the south with my friend.
