"Ghaub is an exceptional property, situated in its own nature conservatory and on the site of an old mission. There is a lot of history in the property, accompanied by an old graveyard and rock etchings dating back to some of the earlier San inhabitants. Take the opportunity and go for long, relatively easy walks and you will be rewarded with a multitude of wildlife sightings of virtually every kind. Accommodation is in three blocks of farmhouse-style rooms, surrounded by large airy verandas, lovely to enjoy with a long, cold drink. There are also three seemingly well appointed campsites for those wanting to brave a slightly wilder accommodation option. Certainly a property we will return to time and time again."

"The focus of the property is on conservation, which is fantastic - BUT - the gardens need some basic maintenance, for example cutting away dead branches to enhance the views and facilitate keeping the grass under the trees shorter - they are currently perfect for a variety of dangerous snakes. Similarly, the map provided indicated some SAN etchings, but the trail is long since overgrown and impossible to find. Unfortunately, the food, while simple and plentiful, lets the entire property down - combinations are strange and basic food is unseasoned - perhaps the chef was away or the cook simply needs some basic instruction - we would far rather have self-catered."

"Breakfast at 0730 to 0830 am (only 1 hour early morning window) is brutal. Breakfast can be served up to 10 am, like every other property in Namibia."

"It was as if visiting good friends. Charming house built in 1930. Well situated. The host was extremely helpful and ready to do his best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. PS: He’s an excellent cook."

"We had an amazing stopover at Fiume Lodge. It is a beautiful farm embedded into a stunning landscape. All the facilities are well maintained and in top condition. The rooms as well as the bar and dining room are lovely decorated and feature breathtaking views into the surrounding nature. For us the best part of our stay there was the exquisite 5 course dinner menu which consisted of local products and was of exceptional quality. From our dinner table we could watch eland antilopes gathering at the waterhole next to the building. Finally I want to highlight the charming hospitality! We will definitely come back when we travel from Etosha to Divundu the next time."
