"I stayed at AppleBee in November 2025. The communication beforehand was very smooth and Jeannine was always quick to reply and help out with any questions. All the staff was very kind and Tony makes sure your on site stay runs smoothly. The accommodation was equipped with everything we needed, which made the stay very comfortable and pleasant. Since it was a longer stay it was nice that we were able to cook in the cottage as well. The pool was also a very nice extra. The breakfast was very tasty, if you're not yet sure to book it I would definitely recommend it. If I'm returning to Makhanda I will definitely come back here."

"Super clean, comfortable and spacious (at least for one or two people) apartment in a quiet area which felt very safe. Could walk to the centre in about 10-15 minutes. Really appreciated the good coffee, cereal and rusks that were available."

"The location was prime. I loved that it was a street away from The College of Transfiguration and a few minutes' drive to the schools/shopping center. The area is quiet, and the cottage was spacious and comfortable. Although it's self-catering, they provide cereals, milk, teas,coffee, and tasty rusks. If traveling in a group/ as a family, there's board games in one of the bedroom drawers. There's also a few books you may enjoy in the room. The owners also logged into their Netflix account, saving you ⁵the hassle of having to log in to a new device."

"Sofa in living room not comfortable. It’s aged and will do with a replacement. The alternative chairs also not comfortable for a living room as they are hard."

"The beds were super comfy and the place was very clean. We had everything we needed in our unit. The pool area was so nice and the pool clean but unfortunately we couldn't swim as the weather didn't play along, it had safe parking and a nice area outside where i could train."

"Convenient location – easy walk to downtown and the university, but in a quiet and beautiful area away from heavy traffic and city noise. All the staff were friendly, gracious, and efficient and went above and beyond to help. The room was cleaned exceedingly well every day and all necessary provisions (plus a few extras) were refreshed daily. The apples were delicious. There were surprisingly many pillows. Even my fairly small room had cooking facilities and a refrigerator, all of which helped me a lot."

"There wasn't anything I didn't like. I could mention that there is a fan that helps on hot days and nights, but the room I had could get rather hot during load-shedding hours, when the electricity is off (this is a country-wide issue that comes and goes). This isn't the property's fault, though."
