"The kindness of the staff, the beauty and the comfort of the hotel, the location and the delicious breakfast."
"The common areas (breakfast room) were a bit chilly in the morning. A better heating system would be appreciated. The fridge and heating were a bit noisy during the night."

"We had a lovely stay at Casa das Obras and we were sorry it wasn't for longer. Our room was lovely and spacious even though it was 'budget'. There is also a communal sitting room with a fire and a games room with a billiard table. Tea, coffee and home made biscuits are available, which is a really lovely touch. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room and had a great range of options. Our hostess was friendly and welcoming. We thought the place was stunning."

"Fantastic place. A mansion located in center of Manteigas. The building is from XVI and XVIII century, and inside you feel like in palace. There is even bilard room. Breakfast was excellent, with good choice of hams and cheeses."

"It's not a dislike, but the streets are very steep, so be aware if you have mobility issues that you will need to walk along narrow cobbled streets throughout the village. Only adds to the charm."

"The location -walking distance to the beach was great. Peaceful atmosphere, very chill. Very well equipped with everything you need. Magnificent views from the room. Friendly staff, although it was off-season so everything was a little slow."
"Very nice place. Very quiet, in the middle of horses. It was so nice to sit on the veranda and soak in the atmosphere. The veranda is also very nicely sheltered from the wind."

"Quiet, clean, comfy, friendly, good breakfast that has everything one could think of. Hikers of the fisherman trail should consider the small detour to reach this outstanding place. We hitched there and the very friendly hosts drove us back the next morning (~2km)."

"Cosy room.in a traditional old farm building. The table by the swimming pool had a fabulous vista down the valley to Vizela and beyond; perfect for watching the sunset directly ahead whilst bats fly around and sipping the delicious wine made by the family. We regret not bringing some home! The owner went the extra mile for us, for example taking our laundry and ironing even in the middle of a heatwave"
