"This hotel is in the perfect location. It is very close to restaurants, stores and market as well as transportation and beaches. It is in an extremely quiet neighborhood, no barking dogs or roosters. The setup of the building is perfect to create a sanctuary around the pool area."

"Location perfect. Hotel needs a little tlc. Mattresses were too hard on couches. Considering the price it was very good. Lovely pool. Nice host and clean."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Playa Canek, the location was spot on, close enough to all the action without the noise :) Bruno the owner is great, lovely friendly guy who we shared plenty of tequilas with down at the beach bar :) The breakfast is fab, local eggs cooked how you like with toast, fruit & coffee. Sunrise is epic on the hammock, 6.50 am sunrise I was there from 5.50 stars & purple pink skies accompanied by Natcho, the friendliest hotel dog. Teresa was fabulous at organising dinner reservations & our transfer back to the airport 24hr Go mart is a lovely 5 Minute stroll away that has coffees, pastries, frappes & snacks etc There is a food court directly opposite, tacos, pizzas, burgers, shrimp & munchies bar serving fab cocktails 10/10 stay We would love to return, thank you for having us at your little slice of paradise on the beach Bruno & co Nicky & Carl :)"

"It was exactly what we needed! Comfortable, quiet. Easy parking, easy to get to. After a full day out exploring the desert it was the perfect retreat. Staff were lovely. Just great!"

Location is OK, but if you want to walk to the nice downtown it's about a 20-30min walk (of which you can stroll most along the ocean promenade). "Very good location (If you are staying for a day or two, just to be close to the bus station or airport) - very close to the shopping area, but in a quiet and peaceful place. The hotel itself is nothing special, but at least it is clean, with nice beds and air conditioning. For hot water you have to be patient for it to come, but anyway the climate is so warm that you don't really need hot water."
