Located in the middle of the forest and on the shore on the Sunīšu Lake, Laguna House hotel offers rooms with free Wi-Fi. It has been designed by a well known Latvian architect, Janis Vizins. "We stayed only one night, arrived at 9pm and left at 7am, hence didn't have too much time. There seems to be no restaurant. The beer was ok, but rather expensive. It seems a nice place on the shore of the lake, but only for staying there, not for walking around. So, it could be a nice stay if you don't like the crowds, or if you come with a bunch of friends."

"We may have misread the booking.com website, as we filtered for breakfast. We were informed there was unfortunately no breakfast at our arrival. I think the sons may have been managing the site while their parents were out of town, but I'm just speculating. They were polite enough but did not engage. One young man DID make us an excellent coffee in the morning. It seemed as if we were the only guests. The shower had a broken door (sharp edges) and a shower curtain covered the space - which was ok but unexpected. The road approaching the hotel was very bumpy and uneven - might not have been upgraded since at least one winter ...? Again, the area was beautiful, and if we had more time to stay several days or a week in the area to relax, I might have been perfectly happy (if I'd had breakfast :)). There was a nice sand volleyball court just outside the back door. And a boat may have been available for the lake. We were on our way from Tallin to Vilnius just for an overnighter. This was a good 'halfway point'."
