"The only drawback was that the room was two flights up on a steep staircase. This may, however, my fault for not requesting a ground floor room at the time of booking."
"Melrose House is a charming and well-maintained place to stay, located in a quiet, safe neighborhood just a short train ride from Victoria Station. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Penge East, the local train station. Trains run frequently, with the last departure around 00:30, making it easy to get back after a day in the city. The hosts were welcoming without being intrusive, which made the stay feel relaxed and comfortable. The breakfast was generous and very good. Overall, a great option if you prefer to stay slightly outside the busy city center."

"I arrived a bit early due to the rain and I was received by Wendy a nice lady. I got the key to my room which was on the top floor. The room very clean and spacious. Everything I needed was in the room. The bed was so comfortable to sleep too"

"The location worked out well, was within a few minutes walk of two railway stations. Calvin cooked a splendid full English (with scrambled eggs). I found it to be a quiet location but in easy reach of Penge high street shops and very handy for trains into the city."

"Lovely warm house & room - very important on days when it didn't get above zero. Twin room good size for 2. Breakfasts were excellent, especially the cooked breakfast. About 5 mins walk from Penge East Station which have trains every 15 mins to Victoria plus a number of other stations on different train lines also nearby. We stayed here as family live nearby but is also a great base to discover London at a good price."
