"We stayed at the cottage in June 2024 for thirteen nights and found it to be truly wonderful. It is well equipped and comfortably furnished, a real home from home. The owners, Fred and Isa, live opposite and provide friendly help and advice about local attractions without ever being obtrusive. The position of the house is quiet and great for visiting La Rochelle and Ile de Re. The local town of Chatellilon is charming, classily low key yet unpretentious. It offers a good range of shops, and a visit to the daily covered food market is a must. The beaches are admirable, superb for swimming and sunbathing, and there are some very nice restaurants. We made the short excursion to Fouras a couple of times to take in Fort Vauban as well as the distant view of Fort Boyard. The beach at Fouras is gorgeous, and a dip at high tide is perfect."

"Very cozy apartment, with all necessary equipment (stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioning, fridge) and a large selection of dishes for cooking and serving. Very comfortable queen size bed. Private parking is available for car in the courtyard of the House. Very close walk to the beach, train station and grocery stores. The owners are very friendly peoplel, always answer on questions on phone. We felt like being at home. We recommend this place if you choose housing in this area"

"Property was ideally located for easily getting into the centre for restaurants, shops & bars plus walking up to the cite. Easy to find & to get taxis. Decor was absolutely in keeping with the setting & extremely comfortable. Having an outside space was a real bonus, when in a city. Felt completely safe & at home. So glad it was available for our week & would definitely book again"
